About Us

Located in Manhattan  NY, New York County Amateur Radio Emergency Service is a volunteer organization of trained amateur radio operators who assist in public service and emergency communications. As one of the five borough ARES groups which make up New York City District ARES, Additional information about our organization and the other boroughs can be found on the district website.

In addition to providing emergency backup communication support for our served agencies, we have provided communication services for the following community events:

Meetings/Nets:

We hold a county ARES net every Tuesday at 20:30 on 147.270 +600 Khz PL 141.3 through the generous facilities of the Broadcast Employees Amateur Radio Society.

New York City District ARES holds a net every Monday at 20:00 on the K2MAK repeater, 448.275 -5Mhz PL 88.5.
